Nothing runs like a Deere and nothing tastes like a birthday cake. This creation is a combination of both! I made it to help a little friend who loves tractors celebrate his second birthday in style. I tinted the batter green and yellow and alternated colors when I stacked the cake layers so that each slice was striped when the cake was cut. Fun!
I heard that the birthday boy went right for the tractor and "drove" it around the table - the ultimate compliment!
I used a great tutorial by Kosmic Custom Cakes that I found on CakesDecor.com to make the boots. Click here to see it. A big thank you for all the help!

School supplies arranged with springtime flowers help a kindergarten teacher celebrate her birthday. This teacher loves chocolate, so the inside of her cake was three layers of Devils' Food cake with chocolate fudge filling in between. On the outside, a buttercream basket holds a bunch of sugar blossoms and edible pencils, paper, scissors and rulers... an A+ birthday celebration!

I love the theme of this shower cake. Monograms make me happy and so does tequila! These cupcakes were almond cake with buttercream icing, but the sparkly sugar around the edges made me think about salt around the rim of a margarita glass.... mmmm!
I made the big monogrammed lime slice out of rice krispie treats and covered it in fondant before painting all the details with edible paints. More sparkly sugar "salt" on top of the cake completed the look.

What do you get for a man who has every product that Craftsman ever made? Edible tools, of course!
I made these for a good friend's father to help celebrate his birthday. They won't be very useful for a home improvement project... but they are just perfect for a tastebud improvement project!
